Summer has officially begun and the heat is on! With temperatures reaching nearly 100 degrees for the last few weeks, it’s hard to imagine anything that could make the heat bearable besides relaxing in an air-conditioned oasis. Whether for work or play, at some point you must brave the elements and venture outside and the following pieces are here to help.
This is how I’m surviving summer….
White Blazer: With temps like these, the last thing you may want to do is put on more clothes however; certain occasions call for polished attire regardless of how hot it is outside. A one button white blazer is the perfect way to pull a causal look of jeans and a tank top together or pair it with a strapless frock to create a sharp and fun summer ensemble. Look for one with contouring and a structured shoulder to create a tailored appearance.
The Wrap Sandal: An essential (and comfortable) addition to any summer wardrobe….basic enough to wear with shorts and a tank but chic enough to be paired with a colorful summer print without competing.
The Maxi Dress: By far my favorite summer staple…it’s complete, it’s chic and it works for every shape. For a solid, add a statement necklace or bold dangly earrings. For prints anchor the look with a textured belt or bangles and a fabulous cocktail ring.
The Romper: Another “all-in-one” I can’t get enough of! While this one-piece can be cute and sassy it can also turn crass and skanky if not done right. First be sure to select a romper with an appropriate short length, you never want it look like a onesie. The other important element is the shoes: I recommend a wedge, chunky heel, or flat….stilettos will surely give off a streetwalker vibe.
